Site version history
This covers the history of the site. This includes changes implemented to the site, as well as web addresses, designs, etc. This will not include any changes to the slx engine currently used on this site. As of version 12, changes to the design, or location of pages will be covered here. Changes to the HTML code generated is considered part of slx. If a location becomes implemented in slx (i.e. a db or the like), there may be coverage in both logs.
Version 12
12.00 alpha: 2009-06-30. Moved to permanent domain: fridlunds.org. 3 pages released: about, version, slx. Premier with slx engine ver 0.2. An advance to changing all pages to current engine over the next few days. Styles are incomplete.
Version 11
Unreleased. This version was supposed to support tagging completely, using single brackets. See why Version 11 was replaced with slx.
Version 10
10.00: 2005-11-19. Preview release for Helena's bio page... not rolled out across the site. Pages using ver. 10 were considerably darker background, and different fonts. Changes include:
- Colors calmer/more professional.
- (behind the scenes)Page data in files in one directory.
- Gallery hooks more subtle.
- Use of language redirection in urls via 404 and PHP have been used to set up future support of Swedish.
- Removal of breadcrumb bar due to language support
- Images on the main and family pages for navigation
- Useful sidebar reenacted
- Menu bar uses roll over links for menu (and another for current category). Also promises support for multiple languages.
10.50: 2007-07-25. Unreleased to site. Several changes to prepare for 11.00. Visible changes include: Stylesheets change and minimized. Fixed sizes for Main and Sidebar boxes, with own scroll bars in box instead of the window. Colors shaded darker. Internal changes: files--Main and sidebar are variables instead of one big text file. Easier if planned to convert to DB. PHP files tidied.
10.60: 2007-07-27. First next-gen released. A small parser engine included to parse tags for b/i/heading/url/lj using double brackets. Format was [[tagname url text]]. Sets up for 11.00 where it will become single brackets. Version history on 10.00, other pages on 10.60. Home page still on 9.00
10.65: 2007-07-28. Parser engine fixes bug in URL. Add support for img/ins/del/iq/ia (last two are interview Q & A pages.)
Version 9
9.00alpha (9.00a): 2005-02-09. Consistant view of pages changed site completely. Earlier, some sidebar contents overlapped bottom bar, but was fixed here. Different styles removed due to poor browser support and script problems. Bugs include colors being hard to see, not all headings styled, and connecting Coranto to work better with page.
9.00beta (9.00b): 2005-02-10. PHP used to create site, SSI removed. Starts with main, but rest of site follows shortly.
9.00: no official date, but signifies all pages using PHP is complete. Also same date that site transfers to domain name fridlunds.se (outdated site, will be removed 2009-11-01).
9.10: 2005-02-19. GalleryGen created for pictures, and is implemented. Version at this time is 1.10
9.11: 2005-08-28. GalleryGen 1.30 introduces feature to load image stylesheet in all pages. Necessary for GalleryGen, but bug for site.
9.12: 2005-09-02. Internal changes include fixes to the following:
- Gallery bugs
- Left submenu is PHP generated, reducing footprint.
- Gallery list from submenu and Site Map now use the Gallery DB, saving code, time, and space.
Version 8
8.00: 2004-05-26. Major overhaul. Changes include:
- Breadcrumbs on all except main
- Family pages shuffled to a better format
- P&V history moved slightly to a better location
- Pages with dialogs (such as the scripts and relationship F.A.Q. pages) fixed the colors on certain color schemes.
- Menu uphauled.
- Some 'filler' pages such as the family dir were uphauled.
The home page got the most updates: no menu, moving the news to a little area, removing the rotating "banner ad" and adding a nicer user-friendly page. A News page was generated to substitute the news.
8.01: 2004-08-15: Bugfix in floating box alignments.
Version 7
7.00: 2003-04-17. New location: shadowots.nu (no longer available). Uses CSS2, and eliminates table for placement. Site overhauled, including removing gap from 5.80 and background image in 5.30
7.01: 2003-05-10. Corrects bug in Moz 1.4/NS 7.1 where bottom menubar sometimes overwrote text at the bottom of the screen until refreshed.
7.02: 2003-05-20. Corrects CSS bug in IE 4-6 where top graphic appears below main text instead of being fixed. Now appears in proper location.
7.03: 2003-05-22. Star Wars news box floats properly on the right side of the home page.
7.10: 2003-05-26. Compromise between accessibility and IE users: Menu is mostly CSS, using Javascript for IE to display submenus. Menu heads colored better, and submenu/bottom bar link colors are different. First site to be 100% CSS and HTML 4.01 compliant.
7.11: 2003-07-15. Fixed main menu bar for IE, and color.
7.20: 2003-08-07. News on front page automated using Coranto. Also allows pages to be formatted in a printable format (for IE5+)
7.21: 2003-08-07. Fixed a minor stylesheet error for browsers except IE.
7.25: 2003-08-09. XHTML 1.0 transitional compliance. Multiple stylesheets now included (valid for non-IE browsers.)
7.26: 2003-09-02. More SSI to make updating box easier, and easier if different stylesheets added.
7.30: 2003-10-10. Logo no longer animated. A couple banner 'ads' advertising certain parts of the site.
7.40: 2003-10-19. Removed "printer friendly" link, due to CSS added for printing. All pages updated to current version.
7.50: 2004-02-04. Changing styles now a reality, including 4 new styles. Styles can also be permanent across site.
Version 6
6.00: 2002-09-12. Uses server-side includes, results in lower file size, and less broken links. Also hosted on slxception.com (no longer available.)
Version 5
5.00: 2001-04-21. Site moved to local ISP space on FRII. Frames removed, and pages have common settings, as the theme was united. This site was inspired originally by a friend of mine, who hosts galacticempire.net.
5.10: 2001-04-21. SithFic added--alters menu slightly.
5.20: 2001-06-05. CSS Stylesheets added. This would be the first to apply standards to sheets.
5.30: 2001-07-09. Files reorganized, links were changed. New background added to most of the site.
5.40: 2001-07-18. Headers on the left side (eventually become menu items) would have a nice lightning background.
5.50: 2001-09-21. An amazing look. There would be a menu at the top, under the banner.
5.60: 2001-10-06. Removed duplicate links from the left (result of 5.50)
5.70: 2002-02-15. Top banner moves temporarily from top to main section, above the text.
5.80: 2002-05-07. Accessible site in consideration. An 8pt (blank) gap at the top was a link to skip menu to blind people.
5.90: 2002-07-11. Minor facelift.
Version 4
4.00: Released 2001-03-21. Site bonded under one name: Shadow of the Sith. This would be the start of the page in it's modern existance, and some sort of recording of it's changing history.
Version 3
3.00: Released ~2001-01-01. Hosted on xoom.com at the time. Uses frames. Also, the first version to be edited manually (using Windows Notepad. Also, this version would include the first error page, though it would only work as pages manually pointed to it. It would take several versions later to make it function as it should.
Version 2
2.00: released ~2000-08-08: Though I may have been offline for some time, I believe this version eventually made it back on the web. At this time, I was using FrontPage Express® to create most web pages, so it was kind of tacky at places. Basically, the site was split into 3 parts: me, gaming (Including Rifts®), and a game campaign that was active at that time in Deadlands® RPG. Total page size: approx. 5

1.00: released ~1998-07-17. A couple web pages, just to say Hello, I'm here. Originally designed with Microsoft® Word® 97, it was a beginning for me and web design. Hosted on FortuneCity.com
